The Jewish Organizing Fellowship is extremely competitive. This year’s class of 17 Fellows was selected from almost 120 applicants.
Here’s what you need:
We’re looking for people who identify as Jewish and who are between the ages of 21 and 30. You need to be able to work in the United States. Most of our Fellows have graduated college; some have graduate degrees. The average age of our Fellows is 25. There is a wide range of Jewish knowledge, practice and identification. Some are observant, others are secular — pluralism is important to JOI.
We’re looking for leaders:
- You need to be relational and able to connect with people. Sense of humor is key.
- We look for a track record of leadership and/or working to address social problems.
- You need to have some edge and be frustrated with how the world works. But hope is important, too.
- You should have a sense of why you care about making the world a better place.
- And, you should be interested in exploring the connections between your Judaism and your social justice work.
Are you excited about developing your leadership, honing your skills as a change agent and being connected to an incredible community of Jewish organizers?
We would love to hear from you!
Jews of Color, trans, gender variant and/or queer folks are encouraged apply.
