JOI Application Deadline: March 12, 2010
Written Application: The written application consists of a 1 page resume, a cover letter and 2 references. Please see JOI Application for the prompt for the cover letter.
Phone Interview: On a rolling basis once applications are received.
- Applicants who pass the written application stage will then participate in an individual phone interview conducted by a JOI alumnus, Fellow, or staff.
- Once a completed application has been processed by JOI and a phone interview has been conducted, applicants will be informed if they qualify for the Interview Event.
JOI Group Interviews and Matching Event: Second round candidates who pass our phone screening will be invited to a two-day Group Interview event. This event will take place in Boston in April.
- The first day of the event is an interview with JOI. If you pass this stage, you are considered a JOI Finalist.
- On the second day of the event, Finalists interview with JOI Placement Organizations.
- At the end of the day Placements and Finalists submit their initial preferences of people to hire/places to work. If you are unable to attend the interview event, we will do our best to accommodate your needs; however, your chances of being hired by a placement organization will decrease because most organizations prefer to be able to meet candidates in person.
Matching Process: 2nd round interviews are conducted in the 2 weeks following the event (in person, or, if necessary, over the phone). At the end of this interview period, Finalists and Placement Organizations submit their final preferences to JOI. JOI then determines the best matches and calls Finalists to offer them jobs on behalf of the Placement organizations. Finalists are not fully accepted into the JOI program until JOI has extended them a job offer from a Placement organization.
