JOI RFP
- RFP: The application contained within the JOI Request for Proposals consists of organizational information, an explanation of the role of organizing in your organization, a JOI Fellow job description and an optional place to apply for a JOI subsidy. If your organization has hired a JOI Fellow in the recent past, please contact the office because it is possible you won’t need to resubmit the entire RFP.
- Placement Review: Once applications are received, the JOI Placement Review Team will read applications to determine if organizations meet JOI criteria. As part of this process, JOI will do a site visit for organizations that are unknown to JOI or that JOI has not worked with in the past.
- Interviewing and Matching Event: Once organizations have been accepted as placement organizations, they will be invited to attend our Interview and Matching Event on April 11th and 12th, 2010.
- On the first day of the matching event, April 11th, JOI will interview candidates. Those that make it past the first day will interview with placement organizations on the second day.
- If a member of your staff would like to come observe the candidates during the first day, they are welcome to do so. If there is someone they see who they want to make sure gets an interview with your organization, they should feel free to let us know.
- After the day of JOI interviews, almost half of the candidates in the interview day will be cut. On the following day, April 12th, Placement organizations will have 5 hours of interviews with our top candidates, scheduled by JOI.
- At the end of the day, Placements and Finalists will all be asked to submit an initial preference form. This form is not binding.
- 2nd Interviews: In the 2 weeks following the interview event, Placements will have an opportunity to follow up with candidates they were impressed with and potentially have them meet other members of the staff.
- Final Preference form: At the end of these two weeks, Placements will be asked to submit a final preference form with the names of the Finalists they would be willing to hire. Organizations should only submit this form if they are willing to hire the people they list. It is based on these forms that JOI will be making job offers.
- Job offers: Using the final preference forms from the Finalists and the Placements, JOI will determine the best matches and will call the candidates to offer them a job. Once a Finalist accepts, Placement organizations should be in touch about a letter of hire, and getting set up on the health insurance and other logistics.
